88
As a former music industry player DJ 88 was supervisor of soundtracks at Atlantic Records (with producer credits for the High School High Soundtrack), managed one of LA’s hottest Dj’s Adam 12 (now one half of She Wants Revenge), threw some of the best parties in the early 90’s during the evolution of the hip hop club scene in Los Angeles, and was a freelance writer for several music publications. Years later DJ 88 celebrates and delivers her diverse musical background to Las Vegas socialites at various venues and special events around the city. DJ 88 shines as an alternative to Vegas nightlife specializing in classic and current hip-hop, R&B, classic soul, neo-soul, and down tempo while also incorporating a splash of electro and soul house into her sets. Although quite capable, when necessary, of rocking the mandatory Top 40 hits every Vegas club is known for, DJ 88 prefers to stay away from large, tourist driven rooms. Instead, she prefers intimate settings and special events where she can customize a cinematic experience for elite partygoers, an attitude that led to her residency for Vegas lifestyle darling 944 Magazine and its sister publication, Racket. She is also the resident DJ for the SpyonVegas.com Open Bar series and just recently finished a summer residency for the Friday Nite Live concert series at the Hard Rock Hotel. Los Angeles residencies include Falcon and El Carmen and she has performed @ several Vegas venues including Bare Pool at the Mirage, The Downtown Cocktail Room, Lure at The Wynn Hotel, The Whiskey Bar at Green Valley Ranch, The Griffin, and private parties in Playboy Suites at the Palms Hotel. DJ 88 has provided eclectic soundtracks for events such as the Sweetface trunk show at the A-list boutique Curve in Los Angeles, the She Wants Revenge concert after party and the New Year’s Eve private event at Mix in THEHotel at Mandalay Bay, Madewell boutique opening in Las Vegas, Michael Stars boutique store opening in Las Vegas, the Loft5 Launch Party, the Monte Carlo Hotel’s 2007 High Roller Poker Tournament event and the Motorcycle Diaries premiere party (which was her first deejaying gig). The end of 2007 brought DJ 88 to New York to dj the Zappos.com Halloween Party in Union Square’s Downtown Ballroom and a second time for New Years Eve 2008 where she dj’d a private party for the hot new Soho restaurant/bar Bar Blanc. Her client list includes ABC Networks, Patron, Moët Chandon, Red Bull, Jennifer Lopez Enterprises, Zappos.com, Town & Country Magazine, Vantage Lofts, and X-it Properties. Aside opening up for Snoop Dogg the 2007 VMA opening weekend event @ The Hard Rock, DJ 88 has opened up for She Wants Revenge, De La Soul, Sean Paul, Stephen Marley, Hot Hot Heat, Steel Pulse, Louis XIV, The Donnas and Everlast. Aside monthly mentions and pictures in 944 magazine she was also featured and interviewed in a two-page spread in the June 2007 issue of Racket magazine. This year brings a new venture to the table for DJ 88 as she will now be curating music for high end boutiques, restaurants, and hotels…including Curve boutique in Los Angeles and New York and Bar Blanc in Soho.
