El Dopa truly believes that music makes the difference, and his keen ability to create the ultimate soundtrack for any party or situation sets this DJ apart from the mere button-pushers. He got his start over 10 years ago in college radio at KUCI 88.9fm with his shows Extreme Possibilities and later Radio 69, which allowed Dopa the freedom to discover all types of music. Having already started his vinyl collection, it wasn’t long before he got a pair of turntables and a mixer, and started spinning frat parties. Then came the mixtapes, which Dopa used to land club residencies lasting as long as 4 years. Both the mixtapes and the club dates garnered him a modest fan base, which meant more guest DJ spots, including several out-of-town appearances in cities like New York, Vegas, Miami, Austin, Houston, Dallas, and even London.

Now El Dopa’s repertoire has expanded beyond DJing to include music consulting/programming, music supervision, marketing, and licensing, while still DJing at clubs, bars, restaurants, and private events.
