Quixotic
As a founding member of the world known DJ crew The Trooperz, Quixotic has performed and showcased his talents all over the country. From Miami to Montreal, Cleveland to Chicago, Los Angeles to San Francisco, Quix has rocked and entertained the masses. He has competed and won in many nationally respected battles and was recently crowned the 2004 Los Angeles DMC and Shure Vinyl Kombat Champion. With the DMC title he then moved on to represent Los Angeles in the United States Championships where he ended up placing 4th in the nation. Quixotic has performed and opened up with a whos who in the music scene, from underground stars like Supernatural, Pharcyde and Dilated Peoples to Busta Rhymes, Run DMC, and Black Eyed Peas. He was also featured in a feature film “The Beat” performing along side hiphop star Coolio.
Quixotic is not only an accomplished DJ/turntablist, but is in the works producing an album of original music with production partner Defect. Their first collaboration entitled “Wristraining Order” has already been featured on Bomb Record’s release “Return Of The Dj Vol. 5.5″. They also completed a track for the female breakdancing flick titled “B-Girl” and their work has been heard everywhere from the hit cop drama “CSI:NY” to the UPN’s “America’s Top Model” not to mention having music on countless TV commercials and surf/skate videos.
Quixotic and Defect are also finishing up the self titled EP under their band name “Phonosapiens” along with Rahman Jamal.
Quixotic was featured in the Jan/Feb 2005 issue of URB magazine with an interview/feature.
